Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has come forward to debunk viral claims suggesting he’s planning to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Taking to his verified social media accounts on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), Lawal made it crystal clear that he’s not going anywhere. According to him, the speculations are nothing but distractions aimed at derailing the progress of his administration.
“I am Dauda Lawal, a bona fide member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Disregard the fake news from detractors determined to distract us from the RESCUE MISSION we have embarked on,” the Governor stated.
He emphasized that his primary focus remains on fulfilling the mandate entrusted to him by the people of Zamfara, not entertaining political gossip.
The rumors of his potential defection to the APC had stirred political conversations online and offline, but his recent statement has put those talks to rest.
Zamfara State, situated in Nigeria’s North-West region, has witnessed its fair share of political tension, but Lawal’s firm stance may just calm the waves — at least for now.
