Mrs. Tochukwu Ezemma, the wife of prominent Anambra billionaire and real estate mogul Benjamin Ezemma, has expressed frustration over the handling of her husband’s disappearance.
Known popularly as BigBen, Ezemma, the Managing Director of Dubai Estate, Awka, was abducted on November 12, 2024, and has remained missing since then.
In a heartfelt statement, Mrs. Ezemma accused the state government of maintaining a “conspiracy of silence,” highlighting the lack of urgency in addressing the disappearance of a major investor in the state’s economy.
Her Emotional Plea
Breaking her silence, Mrs. Ezemma described the anguish her family has endured over the past two months:
> “I can no longer be quiet. It’s been over two months of extreme torture for me, my children, and our entire family. Where is my husband? What exactly is the problem?
> “They claim his abduction is tied to a business dispute, but my husband is a pillar of the Anambra community. He has contributed immensely to the state through his entrepreneurial efforts. His disappearance deserves serious attention from the authorities.
> “Please, Ndi Anambra, ask the authorities if the laws on investigations and arrests have changed. How can my husband, a vibrant young man, be abducted, and no action is taken? Everyone, please come to my aid. Consider my one-year-old child who doesn’t even know her father.
> “The DSS told us the case is in court, but who is the case against? What are the charges? We demand answers.”
Mrs. Ezemma also called for an investigation into the “high-profile men” her husband met on the day of his abduction, questioning why they haven’t been questioned or arrested.
A Call for Justice
Describing her husband as a visionary entrepreneur who aimed to empower over 10,000 youths through his businesses, she emphasized the need for immediate action:
> “It is BigBen today; it could be anyone tomorrow. How can someone disappear from a meeting with known individuals, and yet nothing is done because they’re highly connected?”
Her plea comes as a wake-up call to Anambra citizens, urging them to demand justice not just for her husband but for anyone who might face a similar fate.
