Why Enugu State is Rushing for Development: Governor Peter Mbah Speaks

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has expressed urgency in advancing the development and transformation of the state, citing critical challenges in various sectors.

He emphasized that addressing these issues demands swift and decisive action. In his speech at a Holy Mass held at the Government House Chapel, Enugu, marking the start of the new work year, the governor thanked the people for their unwavering support.

Governor Mbah highlighted that the state government’s ongoing development efforts would continue, fueled by the faith of the people in his administration.

“Your support and dedication are behind our achievements in 2024. To show our gratitude, we will intensify our efforts to make Enugu the prime destination for business, investment, tourism, and living,” he said.

His commitment to inclusive governance ensures that no part of the state is left behind as progress is made.

Facing Monumental Challenges Head-On
Addressing concerns that his administration might be tackling too many issues at once, Governor Mbah explained that rapid progress is essential in light of the state’s challenges.

He pointed out that the critical policies and projects underway cannot be delayed. “We need potable water in every home and modern education systems that prepare our children for the future workforce.

Our healthcare system needs immediate attention, and we must revamp our infrastructure and industries,” Mbah stated.

The governor also expressed gratitude for the large turnout during President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to Enugu, where completed projects were inaugurated.

He assured that even more projects would be delivered in 2025, reaffirming his commitment to transforming Enugu State.
