Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines, has officially thrown his hat into the ring for the November 8, 2025, Anambra governorship election.
The aviation mogul made his declaration during a brief but significant ceremony at his hometown in Ire village, Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area.
Okonkwo, who will be contesting under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC), also announced the formation of his provisional campaign council in preparation for the party primaries.

Speaking passionately about his decision, Okonkwo emphasized that his candidacy is fueled by a deep sense of responsibility and a vision for a better Anambra.
