In a heartbreaking incident in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, the mayor of Tancanhuitz, Jesús Eduardo Franco, was found dead alongside three other individuals in a vehicle.
The 44-year-old mayor, who was part of the ruling Morena party, was shot and killed on Sunday.
The local authorities confirmed the tragic discovery, and Rita Rodríguez, the president of the Morena party, expressed her deep sadness over the loss, calling for justice for those responsible.
This incident is part of a larger pattern of violence in Mexico, where local officials have increasingly become targets of criminal groups. The situation has worsened since 2006 when the government began deploying the military to fight drug cartels.
