A bomb explosion has devastated the Bassa community in Shiroro Local Government Area, Niger State, claiming one life and leaving four others seriously injured.
Eyewitnesses reported that the explosion occurred on Thursday morning as the victims were heading to their farmlands.
Ahmed Almustapha, a local resident and relative of three of the injured, described the incident as horrifying. He revealed that three of the victims lost their legs in the explosion and are currently receiving treatment at the IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna.
This marks the second bomb explosion in Bassa this month. Almustapha recalled a similar incident two weeks ago, which also claimed one life under similar circumstances.
He appealed to the Niger State Government and the federal government to urgently step in with assistance. He stressed the need for improved security and support to help affected families resume their farming activities, which are vital for their survival.
