In a shocking incident, the Supervisor of Solution One Hotel in Ago Oko, Abeokuta, Mr. Adedokun Oluyemi, was found dead in his sleep, according to the Ogun State Police Command.
Unresponsive in His Room
The discovery was made early Saturday morning when the hotel’s bar assistant, Taiyelolu, noticed that Oluyemi had not emerged from his room.
Concerned after repeated failed attempts to reach him, Taiyelolu forced the door open, only to find Oluyemi lying lifeless on the bed.
The police were immediately alerted, and emergency responders rushed to the scene. According to the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, there were no visible signs of violence on Oluyemi’s body, ruling out any immediate suspicion of foul play.
Police Investigation Underway
Following standard procedures, the deceased was transported to the State Hospital in Ijaye, Abeokuta, where he was officially pronounced dead.
His body has since been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Meanwhile, the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has taken over the case for a thorough review of the preliminary findings.
Authorities have also assured that Oluyemi’s family is being contacted and supported during this difficult time.
Police Urge Medical Checkups for Staff
Expressing condolences to the deceased’s family and colleagues, Odutola urged employers to prioritize routine medical checkups and insurance coverage for their staff.
“The Ogun State Police Command commiserates with the family and colleagues of Mr. Oluyemi. We also advise regular medical checkups to ensure the well-being of employees,” she stated.
As investigations continue, authorities are calling for patience while awaiting the autopsy results.
