Mr. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts in combating terrorist financing across Nigeria.
He described the President’s strategy as a decisive move yielding significant progress.
Speaking to journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye commended Tinubu’s assertion during the 2025 National Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Financing of Terrorism and Proliferation Summit in Abuja.
The President revealed that over 100 financiers of terrorist activities had been convicted within the past two years—a milestone Oyintiloye regarded as a bold step in the fight against terrorism.
Oyintiloye lauded the military and other security agencies for their courageous efforts in tackling insurgency and banditry.
He noted that many regions previously plagued by insecurity are now experiencing relative peace, thanks to the government’s strategic measures.
“The President’s focus on dismantling the financial networks supporting terrorist groups has brought about notable improvements in national security,” Oyintiloye remarked.
“This approach has restored hope in Nigeria’s security framework.”
While praising the military, the National Security Adviser, and other security operatives, he urged them not to relent until terrorism is entirely eradicated.
According to Oyintiloye, the recent achievements reflect a renewed determination by the armed forces to secure the nation.
He called on Nigerians to support the administration’s efforts by fostering unity, patriotism, and faith in the country’s leadership.
“With collective resolve and a positive mindset, Nigeria is on the path to restoration,” he added.
