Tinubu may present the 2025 budget to the Senate this week.

Tinubu Set to Present 2025 Budget Soon, Says Senate

The Nigerian Senate has announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to present the 2025 national budget later this week.

This update was shared by the Senate spokesperson, Yemi Adaramodu, representing Ekiti South under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adaramodu explained that the Senate Committee on Finance has already begun reviewing the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and will meet with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) on Monday.

During these meetings, the MDAs will defend their expenditures for 2024 while outlining projections for the upcoming fiscal year.

President Tinubu had earlier submitted the MTEF and Fiscal Strategy Paper for 2025–2027 to the National Assembly, which serves as the foundation for the 2025 budget.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio directed the relevant Senate committees to review these documents and report their findings within a week.

Ahead of the anticipated budget presentation, minor adjustments and preparations are underway in the Senate chamber to ensure a smooth session for the President’s address.

Stay tuned for further updates as the process unfolds.
