It was an emotional Friday in Ojo, Lagos, as family, friends, and dignitaries gathered to bid farewell to Apostle Esther Ojelabi, the beloved wife of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi.
The funeral service, held at the Lagos State University Auditorium, drew prominent figures including the Wife of Lagos State Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; former Governor and ex-Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola (SAN); former Deputy Governor, Sen. Idiat Adebule; Sen. Tokunbo Abiru of Lagos East; and ex-Minister of State for Defence, Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro.
Aged 64, Mrs. Ojelabi passed away on March 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, simplicity, and compassion.
During the service, Senior Apostle Joseph Akanbi of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church urged Nigerians to remain faithful to God and embrace a life of love and selflessness.
“Materialism is a distraction from our true purpose,” he said, emphasizing that life should be lived with the consciousness of our divine mission on earth.
The atmosphere was filled with both sorrow and gratitude as her daughter, Mrs. Tope Ambode, shared heartfelt words about her mother’s lasting impact.
“My mum touched many lives. Though we mourn her passing, we are comforted knowing she now rests with her Creator,” she said.
As the service ended, the resounding message was clear: Apostle Esther Ojelabi lived a life worth emulating—a life anchored in faith, love, and service to humanity.
