Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has given his word that the ongoing construction of Ojo General Hospital will be completed by December 2025.
During an on-site inspection on Tuesday, Sanwo-Olu set a 12-month deadline for the contractor, emphasizing the government’s commitment to quality healthcare infrastructure.
Boosting Healthcare in Lagos West
The 280-bed hospital, located on 6.5 hectares along the Lagos-Badagry corridor, is set to become the largest multi-specialist hospital in the Lagos West Senatorial District.
It will provide world-class medical care to residents and ease pressure on existing health facilities.
The hospital will feature delivery theatres, pediatric wards, an ICU, oncology and gynecology units, an accident and emergency department, a dialysis center, and administrative offices.
Supporting facilities will include a morgue, central laboratory, pharmacy, and doctors’ residences.
Infrastructure Development in Ojo
Aside from the hospital, Sanwo-Olu also flagged off the construction of a 27-block shopping complex along LASU-Iyana Iba Road, designed to relocate traders off the highways and improve the area’s aesthetics.
The Platinum Shopping Complex, developed in partnership with Almera Global Investment Services and the Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC), will house 1,500 shops in four phases.
Sanwo-Olu reassured Ojo residents that these projects are part of a broader renewal agenda aimed at enhancing the socio-economic development of the region.
He urged the community to remain patient as construction progresses.
