The Presidency has called on Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to provide a detailed list of all federal projects that have been left unfinished in the state. This request came during a recent town hall meeting held on December 9, 2024, which brought together various groups, including labor leaders, traders, market women, farmers, and journalists.
Khadijat Kareem, the Personal Assistant to the President on Constituency Affairs, spoke at the event, highlighting the federal government’s commitment to addressing local problems. She said:
“We understand the unique challenges facing Osun State, especially in infrastructure and economic growth. The government is determined to tackle these issues head-on and ensure real progress. We encourage the state government to provide us with a list of abandoned federal projects in Osun. On my next visit, I will come with a major empowerment initiative for the people of this state.”
Governor Adeleke, in response, expressed the state’s willingness to collaborate with the federal government. He assured that the list of abandoned projects would be prepared and sent soon.
At the same event, Comrade Adeshina Abubarkar, the Chairman of the Osun State NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel, appealed to the Federal Government to revive some major projects in the state, including the Machine Tool Factory and the Steel Rolling Mill. He also urged the government to restart the Trader Money program to provide financial support to market women across the country.
The meeting served as an opportunity for residents to voice their concerns and seek federal intervention in critical areas affecting their lives.
