The Presidency has dismissed as false and mischievous reports claiming that Vice President Kashim Shettima was denied access to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
In a statement issued on Saturday by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, the Presidency described the allegations as “totally fabricated” and part of an attempt to mislead the public into thinking there was a rift between President Bola Tinubu and his deputy.
The statement, titled ‘Re: Mischievous Report On Access To The Presidential Villa By Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON’, responded to a report circulating on “obscure blogs” that claimed military personnel had barricaded the entrance to the Villa, preventing Shettima from entering.
Nkwocha dismissed the claims as “wishful thinking” and emphasized that no such incident ever occurred. He pointed out that these fabrications were meant to cause division within the government.
He also reiterated the strong bond and goodwill between the President and Vice President, urging the public to ignore such baseless reports.
Furthermore, Nkwocha reassured Nigerians that Shettima remains focused on his duties, unaffected by these rumors. He called on journalists to verify information from reliable sources and dismissed the reports as an effort to undermine the administration.
This latest claim follows an earlier rumor about campaign posters featuring Tinubu, which was also debunked by the Presidency.
