In a bold move to tackle drug-related crimes, the Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended five individuals suspected of drug trafficking in a high-risk area of the metropolis.
Five Suspects Arrested in Bauchi Drug Trafficking Crackdown
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested five individuals—two women and three men—for their alleged involvement in Bauchi drug trafficking operations in the Unguwar Tudun Wadan Dan’iyaa area.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the operation took place on Sunday, April 27, 2025. It was carried out by the Command Monitoring Unit, led by CSP Abdulrazak Pada, following actionable intelligence.
Identities and Locations of the Suspects
The arrested suspects include:
Adamu Muhammed (35 years)
Mrs. Okwudili Chikezic (50 years)
Sunday Anaco (25 years)
Miss Maryam Ahmed (20 years)
—all residents of Bayan Gari.
Also arrested was 20-year-old Tijjani Adamu from Miri in Bauchi Local Government Area.
Illegal Substances Recovered
During the search operation across multiple local shops, officers recovered:
30 sachets of Tramadol tablets
22 bottles of assorted ICE syrups
3 Penta injections
10 sachets of Diazepam tablets
5 ICE bunkers
Suspects Confess and Cooperate
Police reported that all five suspects confessed to their roles in the drug trafficking network and pledged cooperation with the investigation process.
Police Commissioner Commends Operation
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, praised the officers for their professionalism. He confirmed that the suspects would be profiled and charged accordingly. He also directed a thorough follow-up investigation.

The Command urged community members, especially parents and traditional leaders, to intensify efforts in educating youths about the dangers of drug abuse and criminal activities.
