In a significant breakthrough, the Zone 16 Police Command in Rivers State has arrested three individuals suspected of being involved in fraud and drug-related activities. On December 7, 2024, acting on credible information, police officers raided the Rumukparali community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area and captured the suspects—Billion Ndubuisi, Charles Amachree, and Martins Chinemike.
The suspects are accused of impersonating Ryam Bill, a well-known figure from the United States, and defrauding two victims, St. Andrea and Charlen Zielinsky, out of a total of $71,500. During the operation, police also uncovered wraps of what appears to be cannabis, two vehicles, two laptops, and ten mobile phones.
In a surprising twist, the suspects offered a bribe of $17,000 in an attempt to secure their release. However, the police officers, who were well-trained and committed to justice, rejected the bribe. The money was seized as evidence and will be presented in court.
Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) for the zone, Adebola Hamzat, expressed his dedication to ensuring the safety of the public. He emphasized that under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, the Nigeria Police Force is resolute in its mission to protect the lives and property of every citizen.
