Plateau Court Sentences Two to Death for Murder

A Plateau State High Court has sentenced two men, Thomas Danboyi and Pam Lang, to death by hanging for their involvement in the murder of Chung Bot.

Justice David Mann, the Chief Judge of the state, delivered the verdict in Jos, convicting them of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide under the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria.

Court Finds Evidence Overwhelming

The prosecution, led by Plateau State Attorney General P.A. Daffi, proved that on April 26, 2010, in Jos South, the accused attacked Bot and his family on their farmland.

Danboyi restrained the victim while Lang struck him repeatedly, leading to his death in the hospital.

Despite pleas for leniency, the judge sentenced them to three years for conspiracy and the mandatory death penalty for homicide.
