Pep Guardiola Vows to Stay and Fix Manchester City’s Struggles

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has made it clear that he has no plans to leave the club, despite their recent poor performances. The Spanish coach, who recently extended his contract for two more years, says he is determined to turn things around for the defending champions.

Manchester City is currently going through a rough patch, with nine losses in their last 13 games and only one victory in that period. This disappointing form has raised concerns about Guardiola’s future at the club, but the coach insists he is up for the challenge.

In a recent press conference, Guardiola said:

> “I will try, I will keep going. Sometimes you think a bad run will end sooner, but it takes time. I will not give up. I want to be here. I want to fix this, and I believe we can.”

He acknowledged that the current situation is tough but emphasized that the team has bounced back from difficulties before. Injuries have played a significant role in their struggles, with key players like Rodri, Ruben Dias, John Stones, Kyle Walker, and Jack Grealish sidelined.

Even star striker Erling Haaland, who has been a goal machine, is experiencing a dip in form. Haaland has scored just once in his last seven games and missed a crucial penalty during their 1-1 draw against Everton on Boxing Day. Despite this, Guardiola refused to blame any individual players.

> “I don’t believe in pointing fingers or complaining. It’s football. Things happen, and we have to keep trying,” Guardiola said. “Our success in the past came from persistence, and we need to apply the same mentality now.”

Manchester City’s next match is against Leicester City, and Guardiola is hopeful the team can regain their momentum. While injuries continue to be a challenge, he is confident in the team’s spirit and determination.

> “For many years, we’ve been consistent, but now injuries have hit us hard. Still, I see the players working hard in training and staying focused. That’s the attitude we need to move forward.”

City fans will be looking to Guardiola’s leadership to guide the team back to their winning ways and reclaim their position as one of the best in the Premier League.
