PDP BoT Criticizes NWC Over NEC Delays, Plans January Meeting With Wike

The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has openly criticized the National Working Committee (NWC), led by Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, over the repeated postponements of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

BoT Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, voiced the concerns during an emergency meeting held in Abuja, highlighting that these delays undermine the confidence of party members. He urged the NWC to stick to scheduled timelines, address pressing issues, and set a clear direction for the party’s future.

In a move aimed at fostering unity, the BoT has scheduled a meeting with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in January 2025. This engagement seeks to resolve the internal crises that have plagued the party, including leadership disputes and allegations of anti-party activities.

The BoT’s proactive steps underline its commitment to maintaining the PDP’s integrity and ensuring it remains a symbol of democracy and effective governance in Nigeria. Party members and supporters have been urged to remain patient and supportive as these reconciliation efforts unfold.
