Omowunmi: DNA Test Is to Clear Media Lies, Not to Convince Mohbad’s Father

Omowunmi, the wife of the late singer Mohbad, has stated that her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, already knows that Liam, her son with Mohbad, is his grandchild.
In a trending interview snippet with BBC Pidgin on Monday, Omowunmi emphasized that Aloba is “100% sure” of Liam’s paternity.
She explained that her decision to take a DNA test was not to convince Aloba but to clear the falsehoods being spread in the media.
“I miss my husband with everything. My child recently started school, and when they wrote his name as ‘Mr. and Mrs. Aloba,’ it reminded me of my husband in every way,” she said.
Speaking further, Omowunmi recalled how she and Mohbad first met on the social networking platform 2go when she was 13 and he was 15.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was buried the next day. However, on September 21, his body was exhumed for an autopsy.
Aloba has insisted that Mohbad will not be reburied until a DNA test confirms Liam’s paternity.
Meanwhile, Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, has accused Aloba of deliberately delaying the process.
