Brig.-Gen. Nafiu Assures Corps Members of Prompt Payment
The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, has confirmed that corps members will start receiving a new monthly allowance of ₦77,000 beginning in March 2025.
Commitment to Corps Members’ Welfare
Speaking on Thursday during an interactive session with corps members at the Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices in Abuja, Brig.-Gen. Nafiu emphasized the government’s dedication to prioritizing their welfare.
He assured them that the NYSC, in collaboration with the Federal Government, remains committed to ensuring their financial well-being and prompt payment.
Corps Members Urged to Stay Dedicated
The NYSC boss commended corps members for their selfless service to the nation and encouraged them to remain calm, focused, disciplined, and dedicated.
He also praised the scheme’s founding vision, highlighting its role in nation-building, cultural integration, and leadership development among young graduates.
NYSC’s Role in National Unity
Brig.-Gen. Nafiu reaffirmed that the NYSC will continue to instill core values such as patriotism, discipline, teamwork, and strong moral character in corps members.
“With effect from March, you will receive ₦77,000 as your monthly allowance. NYSC maintains accurate records, and I assure you that your payments will be made on time. The nation values your service,” he stated.
Corps Members Express Gratitude
Zaka Deborah Alheri, a corps member from the Garki Zone, expressed appreciation to the NYSC leadership for ensuring the timely implementation of the allowance increase, describing it as a motivational boost for corps members.
