A northern advocacy group, Gamji Heritage, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to addressing some of Nigeria’s biggest challenges since assuming office.
Speaking in Abuja, the group’s President-General, Malam Ahmed Abdullahi, acknowledged that while expectations from Nigerians remain high, Tinubu has shown strong leadership in tackling issues like corruption, insecurity, terrorism, and banditry over the past 22 months.

Abdullahi emphasized that Nigerians should not expect Tinubu to solve all national problems overnight but recognized that his administration has been actively working towards solutions.
He also highlighted concerns that some government agencies were not doing enough to drive the president’s agenda, citing bureaucratic bottlenecks and funding challenges as obstacles to progress.
Call for Unity and Stronger Governance
The group urged President Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to address political grievances from the 2023 elections, emphasizing the need to reunite party members and ensure inclusivity in governance.
Abdullahi also warned against impunity among political officeholders, stating that good governance and accountability are key to building a better Nigeria.
On Tinubu’s Second-Term Bid
Addressing speculation about Tinubu’s potential re-election bid, Abdullahi dismissed it as premature, saying:
“The President is yet to complete his second year in office. It is too early to discuss a second-term bid. What Nigerians should focus on is ensuring that he delivers on his promises.”
Looking Ahead
As Tinubu’s administration continues to tackle economic, security, and governance challenges, the northern group called for patience and collaboration among all stakeholders to drive national progress.
