Dr. Ayobami Rasheed Advocates for World-Class Medical Care in Nigeria
Despite the numerous challenges facing Nigeria’s healthcare system, renowned plastic surgeon and burn consultant, Dr. Ayobami Aranmolate Rasheed, remains optimistic about the future.
He has urged the government at all levels to invest more in healthcare infrastructure and training, particularly in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Rasheed believes that with the right investment, Nigeria can become a global hub for medical tourism, attracting patients from around the world for high-quality medical procedures.
A Leader in Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery
As the Chief Medical Director of Grandville Medical and Laser Clinics, Dr. Rasheed has been a strong advocate for improved healthcare access and addressing the medical brain drain affecting the country.
His expertise in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery has positioned him as a key figure in Nigeria’s medical landscape.
He gained widespread recognition in 2018 after successfully performing cosmetic surgery on Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh, a case that sparked national discussions about the field of plastic surgery in Nigeria.

We have the talent and expertise right here in Nigeria, and it’s time we change the narrative that quality healthcare can only be found abroad,” Dr. Rasheed stated.
A Journey of Excellence
Dr. Rasheed, who hails from Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, began his medical journey at the University of Lagos, where he earned a National Chevron University Scholarship.
He later pursued postgraduate training in burns, plastic, and reconstructive surgery at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos.
His pursuit of excellence took him to prestigious institutions such as:

Through his initiative, Dr. Laser’s Diary, he aims to educate the public on plastic surgery, addressing widespread misconceptions and ensuring that individuals make informed decisions about their health and wellness.
