General Christopher Musa calls on Nigerian troops to intensify efforts against criminals, emphasizing proactive measures to ensure national security.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has called on Nigerian troops to strengthen their fight against criminals, urging them to pursue and neutralize threats wherever they may be hiding.
He made this statement during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Social and Award Evening for Soldiers, Ratings, and Airmen in Abuja.
General Musa highlighted the need for a proactive approach to security, emphasizing that 2025 should mark a decisive year in combating insecurity.
“We’re not where we want to be yet, but we’re making progress. By working together, we can overcome all acts of evil,” he said.
He encouraged military commanders to lead the charge against terrorism, banditry, and other security threats, stating, “Our mission is clear: find the bad guys, take them down, and ensure peace for our nation.”
Other Military Leaders Echo the Call
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede reinforced the importance of unwavering commitment to combating threats like terrorism, insurgency, and secessionism.
He added, “Whether by land, sea, or air, we must respond wherever duty calls.”
Lt.-Gen. Oluyede also emphasized the importance of supporting government initiatives that aim to improve the lives of Nigerians, stating that the military’s dedication is essential to achieving national goals.
Similarly, the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, assured naval personnel of improved welfare and operational resources.
He announced plans to enhance surveillance and acquire new assets to boost efficiency and morale.
“We are constantly upgrading our operations and introducing advanced equipment to support our troops,” Ogalla stated.
Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Chief of the Air Force, represented by AVM Idi Sani, commended troops for their dedication.
He noted that their resilience is vital for maintaining national unity and progress, even in challenging security environments.
“Your steadfast commitment ensures the strength and stability of our nation,” he remarked.
The event underscored the collaborative efforts among the armed forces, showcasing significant achievements in counterinsurgency, disaster response, and national security.
