In another major drug bust, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully intercepted a fresh attempt to smuggle cocaine to Saudi Arabia, showcasing their continued vigilance at Nigeria’s ports of exit.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has once again demonstrated its commitment to clamping down on drug trafficking activities, intercepting a shipment of cocaine disguised within body lotion bottles and bound for Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement released on Sunday, April 27, by Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, ten wraps of cocaine were discovered hidden inside the lotion containers.
This interception comes barely a week after the agency uncovered parcels of cocaine cleverly concealed in religious books, also destined for Saudi Arabia.
“Barely a week after #ndlea_nigeria officers discovered parcels of cocaine in Saudi-bound religious books, the vigilant operatives have again intercepted tens of wraps of the same substance in bottles of body lotion heading the same route.
Take a look,” the agency’s statement read, highlighting the relentless efforts of NDLEA officers in curbing drug trafficking.
The NDLEA shared a video clip showcasing the discovery process, further emphasizing the tactics traffickers employ to beat security checks and the agency’s resolve to stay ahead of them.
Authorities have continued to urge travelers to avoid getting involved in drug trafficking, warning that Saudi Arabia enforces extremely strict penalties, including capital punishment, for drug offenses.
The NDLEA reiterated its commitment to working closely with international partners to dismantle drug trafficking networks and bring those involved to justice.
