The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially announced the 2025 Hajj fare for intending pilgrims.
Pilgrims from Southern states are to pay N8.78 million, while those from the Borno and Adamawa zones will pay N8.33 million. Pilgrims from the Northern zone will pay N8.46 million.
This announcement was made by the Executive Chairman of NAHCON, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, in a statement released by the commission’s Assistant Director of Information and Publication, Mrs. Fatima Usara, in Abuja on Monday.
Stakeholder Collaboration on Fare Determination
Prof. Usman emphasized that the fare was determined after extensive collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including representatives from the Presidency, state pilgrims’ welfare boards, and other agencies.
He acknowledged the support of the Vice President’s office in approving the fare structure.
> “The leadership of NAHCON, in collaboration with representatives of the Presidency and other stakeholders, worked tirelessly to maintain the fare within a reasonable range compared to previous years,” Usman stated.

Southern states: N8.78 million

The chairman noted that the fare structure reflects efforts to balance affordability and operational costs for the pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

NAHCON has urged intending pilgrims to ensure early registration and payment to avoid last-minute inconveniences.
The chairman reminded prospective pilgrims to adhere strictly to Saudi guidelines and timelines to ensure a seamless experience.
> “We encourage all intending pilgrims to pay their fares promptly and comply with all necessary procedures to facilitate a smooth journey,” he added.
Comparison with 2024 Hajj Fare
In 2024, the Federal Government’s N90 billion subsidy significantly reduced the Hajj fare for pilgrims. Those who benefited from the subsidy paid N6.8 million, while those who paid without the subsidy spent N8.2 million across various zones.
The 2025 fare reflects a modest increase, attributed to rising costs and operational requirements.
