The Joint Task Force North-West, leading ‘Operation Fansan Yamma,’ has made it clear that their recent bombing raids were aimed at terrorist hideouts linked to the Lakurawa group in Sokoto, not civilian areas. This clarification comes after reports suggested that a military jet mistakenly bombed villages in Silame Local Government Area.
In a statement issued by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the military emphasized that all operations are meticulously planned with precise intelligence to avoid civilian casualties. With the growing threat from groups like Lakurawa, ensuring accurate targeting is more critical than ever.
The military reassured the public that the sites hit near Gidan Sama and Rumtuwa were confirmed to be linked to the terrorist group, supporting the necessity of the operation. They urged the public to rely on verified information, warning against the spread of misinformation that could hinder the fight against terrorism and banditry.
