Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has expressed satisfaction with his current wide players despite swirling rumors linking Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho with a move to Stamford Bridge.
The 20-year-old Argentine has reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea and Napoli during the January transfer window.
Garnacho’s representatives were allegedly spotted at Stamford Bridge during Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Wolves on Monday.
Maresca remains confident in his squad, even as Mykhailo Mudryk faces an extended absence due to a doping investigation.
Academy graduate Tyrique George stepped up during the Wolves match, making his Premier League debut to fill the gap left by unavailable senior wide players.
In Friday’s pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s showdown with Manchester City, Maresca stated, “I’m happy with the ones that we have at the moment.
Pedro (Neto) and Noni (Madueke) are on the right, while Jadon (Sancho) covers the left. Misha (Mudryk) is unavailable, but we also have Tyrique, who is a young talent capable of helping us. For now, we are okay.”
Despite his confidence, Maresca admitted that Chelsea remains vigilant in the transfer market as the window approaches its February 3 closure.
With the team currently sitting fourth in the league, they aim to solidify their position and secure a Champions League spot.
Reflecting on his time at Manchester City, where he worked under Pep Guardiola, Maresca praised the trust and confidence the club showed him during his career.
