UMUAHIA In a shocking incident in Umuomei community, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, a man named Ogeoma Ogbonna has allegedly beheaded his father, Azubuike Ogbonna.
After the gruesome act, Ogeoma buried his father’s severed head in a shallow grave, attracting the attention of neighbors.
The body of the father was found lying in a pool of blood, with shocked onlookers gathering around the scene, unable to comprehend the reasons behind the horrifying crime.
According to community sources, Ogeoma, a palm cutter by profession, had displayed signs of mental illness for some time and had been making threats to harm people.
Just hours before the killing, he reportedly threatened to kill his father.
One of the locals shared: “Ogeoma has been showing signs of mental illness and often threatened harm to others.
But none of us ever imagined he would go so far as to decapitate his father. We are all in disbelief.”
After committing the murder, Ogeoma had already buried the severed head in a shallow grave when neighbors arrived. He later led them to the burial site.
At the time of this report, Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, had not responded to calls or messages seeking comment on the incident.
