Delta Man Confesses to Selling Child for Rituals, Reveals Fraudsters Killed Victim

In a shocking development, a 22-year-old man identified as Precious from Oroakpo community in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State has admitted to selling one of the triplets in a family for N200,000 to two suspected internet fraudsters, also known as Yahoo boys.

The fraudsters allegedly used the child for rituals and buried her in a shallow grave within the community.

Precious, who was paraded by the police alongside the elder sister of the triplets, revealed that he had not received the N200,000 promised by the Yahoo boys before his arrest by community youths.

Confession of the Suspect
During interrogation, Precious admitted to luring one of the 10-year-old triplets, who were siblings of his girlfriend, to the Yahoo boys.

He narrated, “I first asked my girlfriend to give me one of the triplets to sell, but she refused and walked away. Later, I sent someone to call one of the girls, took her to the boys, and witnessed them kill her before burying her.”

Precious was apprehended by the community after the girl was declared missing, and his confession led to the discovery of the crime.

The Role of the Elder Sister
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, revealed that the elder sister of the triplets, who is Precious’s girlfriend, admitted to knowing about the sinister plan.

Although she declined to cooperate with him, she failed to alert her parents or raise any alarm about the threat.

“She only notified her parents when the child went missing,” Edafe explained. “It was during the search that she remembered her boyfriend had earlier asked for one of the triplets for rituals.

She then informed her parents and community members, leading to Precious’s arrest.”

Yahoo Boys Still at Large
Precious disclosed that the Yahoo boys fled after the crime, leaving him without payment.

At the time of this report, efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspects responsible for the child’s murder.
