Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is ready to deliver a resounding political defeat to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2026 Osun State and 2027 Oyo State elections. Speaking during the commissioning of a road project in Osogbo, Makinde dismissed claims by APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje that his party would take over the two states as unrealistic.
Makinde highlighted the strides made by Governor Ademola Adeleke in Osun, commending him for completing inherited projects and delivering results that directly benefit the people. He urged the electorate to stick with the PDP, emphasizing that the party’s policies are genuinely people-focused.
Makinde also criticized the current state of federalism in Nigeria, calling for reforms to address the country’s economic challenges and decentralize governance. He described both himself and Adeleke as “true progressives” leading the South-West with visionary policies.
Adeleke echoed these sentiments, reiterating his administration’s commitment to completing projects that benefit citizens regardless of the political party that initiated them. He also called for strict adherence to road safety protocols to ensure the well-being of Osun residents.
The event underscored the unity between the two PDP governors and their shared vision of delivering impactful governance across their states.
