Lakurawa Bandits Attack Kebbi Village, Kill Two Police Officers, Rustle Cattle

In a shocking attack, suspected Lakurawa bandits stormed Natsini village, located in the Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, on January 3, 2025.
The assailants, riding on motorcycles, invaded Alhaji Lawal Black Farm and nearby Fulani settlements, rustling an undisclosed number of cattle.
Confirming the attack, the spokesperson for the Kebbi State Police Command, SP Nafiu Abubakar, stated that the assault occurred around 1:00 AM.
He added that, following the report, a team from the Police Safer Highway patrol swiftly responded to the scene, engaging the bandits in a fierce gun battle.
The pursuit led the assailants into the forest, leaving behind several cattle that were later recovered by the police. Unfortunately, two officers lost their lives during the confrontation.
In response to the tragedy, Kebbi’s Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, expressed deep sorrow and offered prayers for the deceased officers and their families.
He visited the scene for an on-the-ground assessment before meeting with the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu-Mera, to brief him on the collaborative efforts between security agencies to curb criminal activities in the region.
