A heartbreaking tragedy has unfolded in Lagos, as the only survivor of a deadly arson attack, Kehinde Oduse, passed away at the hospital on December 3, 2024. Kehinde, aged 25, was severely burned after a fire set by unknown assailants in the Ita Marun community of Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State. His wife, 22-year-old, and their two children, ages 4 and 2, were killed in the attack.

The incident took place in the early hours of November 26 when the attackers poured petrol into the family’s room and set it ablaze.

The wife was found holding her children after trying to save them, but all three tragically died. Kehinde, who managed to escape, was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries a week later.

Taiwo, Kehinde’s twin sister, shared her sorrow, stating that despite the doctors’ efforts, her brother couldn’t survive due to the severity of his burns. The attack is believed to be linked to a property dispute. The grieving family is calling for justice and for the perpetrators to be arrest.
