The Nigerian government has announced an increase in various allowances for public officials, including Duty Tour Allowances, transport, uniform, and overtime allowances.
This decision was made during the 46th meeting of the National Council on Establishment, led by the Head of the Civil Service, Didi Walson-Jack.
The council also reviewed the public service Schemes of Service to ensure the new allowances are properly reflected.
Following a two-day technical session with officials from federal and state services, the council approved six key memoranda, including the new allowance structures.
The move is part of the government’s effort to enhance the compensation packages for public servants across the country.
