The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of Good Friday and Easter Monday.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Tuesday. In his Easter message, he urged Christians across the country to reflect on the values of love and sacrifice, as demonstrated by Jesus Christ.
The minister, through a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, encouraged Nigerians to use the holiday as a time to pray for peace, unity, and stability in the nation.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo also reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda—a vision aimed at fostering national growth and development.
He called on citizens to spread love and kindness to their neighbors through generous acts, wishing Christians a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration. He also extended warm greetings to all Nigerians, irrespective of their faith.
