FG Appoints Professor Lucian Chukwu as Admiralty University Vice-Chancellor

The Federal Government has officially appointed Professor Lucian Chukwu as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Admiralty University, Ibuzor, Delta State.

According to a statement by the Director of Press at the Ministry of Education, Folasade Boriowo, the university’s Governing Council conducted the selection process on February 26 and 27, 2025.

After evaluating five candidates, Chukwu emerged as the top contender with a score of 83.41%.

“In line with the Federal Government’s principle of merit, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, has approved the appointment of Professor Lucian O. Chukwu as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Admiralty University, Ibuzor,” the statement read.

Chukwu’s tenure is set for five years, effective February 28, 2025. The minister also wished him success in his new role.

This appointment follows a period of controversy surrounding leadership changes at the institution.
