FCT Police Arrest Seven ‘One-Chance’ Suspects, Recover 13 Vehicles and Other Items

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested seven individuals linked to a notorious “one-chance” syndicate operating in Abuja. This follows a series of efforts to crack down on the criminal activities that have plagued the city. The police revealed the arrest of a key suspect, Hyacinth Avetse, who had been involved in the syndicate since February 2023 and had made over N1.4 million from their illicit activities. His capture led to further arrests of six other suspects.

In total, the police recovered 13 vehicles, three POS machines, five laptops, three phones, foreign currency, over a hundred phone memory cards, and other items from the suspects. The success of this operation is part of the ongoing effort by the FCT police to combat the growing “one-chance” crime wave in the nation’s capital.
