Sunday, January 12, 2025

Tosin Adarabioyo delivered an exceptional performance in Chelsea’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Morecambe, marking a historic milestone with his first career brace.

The win secured Chelsea’s progression to the next round of the FA Cup.

A Stellar Display by Adarabioyo

The 27-year-old center-back opened the scoring in the 39th minute with a spectacular long-range shot.

Receiving a pass from Reece James, Adarabioyo unleashed a strike that deflected off a Morecambe defender, leaving goalkeeper Harry James Burgoyne helpless as the ball sailed into the net.

Adarabioyo completed his brace in the 70th minute with another stunning effort, this time assisted by fellow London-born Nigerian, Tyrique George.

Picking up the ball at the edge of the box, he took a touch before curling a powerful shot into the top left corner, bringing his season tally to three goals.

Chelsea’s Dominance

French forward Christopher Nkunku extended Chelsea’s lead in the 50th minute, capitalizing on a parried save by Burgoyne to score with composure.

João Félix added the finishing touches, netting twice in the game’s final moments to seal an impressive 5-0 triumph for the Blues.

Adarabioyo has emerged as a key player under Enzo Maresca, stepping up in the absence of injured Wesley Fofana.

The defender has now made 17 appearances across all competitions this season, solidifying his place in Chelsea’s squad.
