A Senior Magistrate Court in Bosso, Niger State, has sentenced 44-year-old ex-convict Abdulmutalib Abdullahi to two years in a correctional facility without an option of fine for criminal trespass, intimidation, and theft.
Repeat Offender Jailed Again
Abdullahi had recently completed a jail term for a similar offense in Minna and was released in January 2025. However, he was soon arrested again for breaking into a residence and stealing valuable items.
Details of the Crime
According to the First Information Report (FIR) presented by police officers from the Bosso Divisional Command, Abdullahi forcefully entered the home of Mohammed Mohammed Shaba and stole:

One Samsung Galaxy S9
One Infinix Hot 7
One Nokia 105
Other valuables
Court Verdict
During his trial, Abdullahi pleaded guilty to criminal trespass, intimidation, and theft—charges punishable under Sections 288, 349, and 397 of the Penal Code.
The prosecution, led by Sgt. Angela Jah, urged the court to convict him based on Section 190 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) of Niger State.
Delivering her judgment, Senior Magistrate Evelyn Auta described Abdullahi as a habitual criminal who posed a continued threat to the community.
“Given the convict’s repeated offenses, he must be kept in a correctional facility to prevent further harm to society.”
As a result, she sentenced him to two years in prison without an option of fine.
