As Muslims across Nigeria celebrate Eid-el-Fitri, prominent figures, including President Bola Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, state governors, and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), have called for peace, unity, and tolerance.
Tinubu Urges Continuation of Ramadan Virtues
President Tinubu, speaking at the Eid Prayer Ground in Abuja, emphasized the importance of maintaining the values of compassion and service to the community beyond Ramadan.
“We prayed for our country and its people. The virtues of this holy month—caring for the vulnerable, orphans, and less privileged—should not be abandoned. Let us continue on the righteous path,” Tinubu urged.
Atiku Advocates for Citizens’ Welfare
Atiku Abubakar highlighted the need for leaders to prioritize the well-being of Nigerians.
“Ramadan teaches us charity, and it is the responsibility of those in power to ensure the people’s welfare is sustained beyond the fasting period,” he stated.

Peter Obi, in a statement released by his media team, extended warm wishes to Nigerian Muslims and urged them to uphold the spirit of Ramadan.

APC Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje reassured Nigerians that supporting President Tinubu’s administration would yield positive results. He urged citizens to continue practicing Ramadan’s virtues of selflessness and compassion.
