The Edo State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Pastor Ijebor Simon (45 years) and Destiny Okojabhole (23 years), in connection with the brutal murder of seven-year-old Evans Okojabhole in Irrua, Edo Central.
Horrific Discovery
The boy was reported missing on February 21, 2025, and his mutilated body was found 24 hours later in a bush near his home.
His stomach was ripped open, feet severed at the ankle, and some fingers cut off.
Police Investigation and Arrests
The boy’s father, John Okhojibole, reported the incident, leading to an investigation by Irrua Divisional Headquarters.
The suspects have now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department in Benin City.
Related Murder Case in Edo
In a separate case, three suspects — Ibrahim Agboje (King), Yakubu Abudulkareem, and Kareem Audu — have been arrested over the killing of Vigilante Commander Victor Ogedengbe (50 years) in Owan East Local Government Area.
He was reportedly murdered on his farm by suspected herdsmen.
Police Commitment to Security
Edo State Commissioner of Police, Betty Enekpen Otimenyin, reassured residents of the government’s commitment to security and urged citizens to report suspicious activities.
