Delta Teachers Suspended for Fighting in School

Two teachers at Ibru College, Agbarha-Otor in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, have been suspended after engaging in a physical fight within the school premises.

Disciplinary Actions Taken

Following an investigation by the school’s disciplinary committee, both teachers, identified as Mr. Agofure R. and Mr. Etuh G., were found guilty of misconduct and unprofessional behavior.

As punishment, they have been directed to:

  • Serve a one-month duty of cleaning the staff toilets
  • Face possible transfer to other public schools to restore order and discipline

Viral Video Sparks Public Outrage

A video of the altercation surfaced online on Monday, March 3, 2025, drawing widespread criticism from the public.

Many condemned the incident as a violation of professional ethics, prompting swift action from school authorities.

Further Investigation Underway

In addition to their suspension, both teachers have been instructed to report to the Ughelli Zonal Office of the Delta State Post-Primary Education Board for further questioning.

The school management has reiterated its commitment to upholding discipline and professionalism among teachers to maintain a conducive learning environment.
