Court of Appeal Confirms Death Sentence for Dr. Ramon Adedoyin in OAU Student’s Murder Case

The Court of Appeal in Akure, Ondo State, has upheld the death sentence for Dr. Ramon Adedoyin, a prominent hotel owner convicted in the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a former Master’s student at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.

The court confirmed the decision made by the Osun State High Court, which sentenced Adedoyin to death.

The appeal, which had been reserved on October 29, 2024, was ruled on Thursday.

The judgment noted that the original conviction and death sentence were valid, while also overturning the orders for the forfeiture of Hilton Hotel and the education scholarship for Adegoke’s children, which had been granted by Adedoyin and others.

Timothy Adegoke was found dead in November 2021 at Adedoyin’s Hilton Honours Hotel, where he had been staying.
