Barau Sponsors 70 Kano Youths for Master’s Degrees in AI and Robotics in India

In a bid to empower the youth and enhance educational opportunities, Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, has sponsored 70 young individuals from Kano State to pursue Master’s degrees in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics Engineering, and other cutting-edge fields at renowned institutions in India.

The students were sent off in a special ceremony held yesterday in Kano, where Senator Barau, representing the Kano-North district, expressed his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of his state’s future leaders. He emphasized that the scholarships are merit-based, with no consideration of political, economic, or social status.

“I will continue to seek out and sponsor deserving students from our state to study in foreign institutions, regardless of their background,” Barau affirmed. “Your focus should be on achieving academic excellence and becoming true ambassadors of Kano and Nigeria.”

The lawmaker encouraged the beneficiaries to dedicate themselves fully to their studies and to return home with valuable skills that would contribute to the development of their communities, their state, and the nation at large.

In a show of support, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Abdullahi Abbas, praised Barau for his efforts, highlighting that the program would not only empower the students but also contribute significantly to the state’s progress. He assured that similar programs would be implemented if the APC gains control of the state in 2027.

As part of the gesture, the students received a package including travel documents, laptops, Hijabs for the female students, and a copy of the Holy Qur’an. This sponsorship is provided through the Barau Jibrin Foundation, further solidifying Senator Barau’s commitment to fostering education and youth development.

The students are set to study in India, marking an important step toward advancing their careers in high-tech industries.
