In a fresh wave of violence, armed bandits stormed Kumana Chiefdom (Kwassam Ward) in Galadimawa Town and Rumaya communities in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing two people and abducting five others.
The attack, which occurred on Monday, left three other villagers with gunshot wounds as the assailants fired indiscriminately, causing panic among residents.
Victims Identified
According to Joel Ahada, a resident of Rumaya Kwassam Ward, the deceased victims were identified as Shehu Umaru and Philip Barde, while the injured include Vincent Danjuma, Francis Habila, and Amu Bawa.
The kidnapped victims were named as Shekarau Umaru, Nathan Danjuma, Augustine Samuel, Dawo Bawa, and Hon. Christopher Sayi.
Ahada condemned the attack, calling it “a blatant disregard for human rights and rural safety.” He urged the government to take immediate action to protect vulnerable communities.
Efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, for a response were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
