Ex-NYSC DG Brig.-Gen. Tsiga Reportedly Kidnapped as Bandits Raid Tsiga Town, Katsina

Armed bandits unleashed terror in Tsiga town, Bakori Local Government Area, Katsina State, in a late-night raid that reportedly led to the abduction of multiple residents, including former NYSC Director-General, Brigadier-General Maharazu Tsiga (rtd.).

The attack, which occurred around midnight on Thursday, saw gunmen storm the area heavily armed, firing shots indiscriminately before forcefully entering Tsiga’s residence and abducting him along with other victims.

Eyewitness Reports: One Bandit Killed, Uncertainty Over Number of Victims

According to local sources, one of the assailants was neutralized, but no civilian casualties were reported from the community.

Meanwhile, police authorities have yet to confirm the exact number of kidnapped individuals. Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Katsina State Police PRO DSP Abubakar Aliyu stated:

“Yes, there was a reported case of abduction in Tsiga town, but we are still verifying the details and identities of those kidnapped.”

As investigations unfold, residents have been urged to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
