The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, has apprehended 32 suspected kidnappers during operations across various forests in the state.
During a parade of the suspects at the Amotekun headquarters in Akure, Commandant Akogun Adetunji Adeleye credited the arrests to joint efforts with other security agencies.
According to Adeleye, the suspects were captured in forest reserves across Akure North, Akure South, Ose, and Akoko local government areas.
He revealed that the state government has launched a joint task force to tackle criminal activities, urging residents to report any suspicious movements for swift intervention.
“In the past week, we have arrested 32 kidnapping suspects who are currently undergoing interrogation.
A total of 58 suspects linked to various crimes are being paraded today,” Adeleye stated.
Following recent violent incidents in Akoko North, security forces have been patrolling the area, restoring peace to affected communities.
The government has also ordered the establishment of Amotekun posts in remote locations to prevent criminals from regrouping.
