Arewa Consultative Forum Demands Fair Investigation into Senate Scandal
The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has urged a thorough and impartial investigation into the sexual harassment allegations made by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Prof. Tukur Muhammad-Baba, the ACF expressed deep concern over the controversy, emphasizing its potential damage to the image of the Nigerian Senate.
“The ACF is highly disturbed by the unfolding scandal in the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Allegations of sexual harassment and intimidation brought forward by Senator Natasha continue to dominate media discussions and raise serious concerns among Nigerians,” the statement read.
The forum warned that the ongoing dispute could negatively impact the representation of Kogi Central in the Senate and harm Nigeria’s international reputation.
To address these concerns, the ACF called for an independent, transparent, and unbiased investigation, free from political interference.
“As it stands, this controversy carries significant consequences for the integrity of the Red Chamber.
We join other concerned Nigerians in urging a swift resolution through a fair and open investigative process,” the ACF added.
With growing pressure from both national and international observers, many believe a credible investigation is crucial to upholding the Senate’s integrity and ensuring justice for all parties involved.
