In a dramatic turn of events, four suspects involved in the kidnap and murder of Hope Georgewill, the CEO of HMG Attitude Ltd., were killed during a crossfire with police in Rivers State. The authorities continue to make significant strides in resolving the case.

The Rivers State Police Command reported that four of the suspects implicated in the kidnapping and subsequent murder of Hope Georgewill, the Chief Executive Officer of HMG Attitude Ltd., were fatally shot during a police operation.

Georgewill, who was abducted in March from the Degema Waterways, was tragically killed by his captors despite a ransom of N2 million paid by his family. The police, following a series of investigations, managed to track down the suspects.

Earlier arrests made by the Anti-Cultism Unit (ACU) led to crucial information about the hideout of the criminals. This led to an operation on April 3, 2025, in the Bonny Waterway area.

As police operatives approached the hideout, they were met with heavy gunfire from the suspects. In the ensuing gun battle, two of the suspects were killed, while the others escaped with varying degrees of injury. The two suspects who had been earlier arrested attempted to flee during the operation but were shot by the police.

Authorities recovered two speedboats, Georgewill’s phone, and ammunition as evidence. The body of the CEO, after being held for ransom, was later discovered and deposited in the morgue, marking a sad end to a highly publicized case.
