President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt birthday wishes to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, as the traditional ruler turns 85 today, April 22.
The congratulatory message was released on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, Tinubu praised the Emir’s distinguished career in public service, highlighting his roles as a former Justice of the Court of Appeal and the pioneer Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice in the former Gongola State.
The Emir, who was called to the Bar in 1968, also served as a High Court judge in Borno State in 1977 and was later elevated to the Court of Appeal in 1983.
President Tinubu lauded the Emir’s dedication to national development, especially through his judicial service and leadership as a traditional ruler.
He commended the monarch’s commitment to promoting unity, peace, and progress as the Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers.
The statement further recognized the Emir’s contribution to Nigeria’s educational sector, particularly his role as Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka and the Federal University of Agriculture in Makurdi.
The President conveyed warm greetings to the Emir’s family, the Ilorin Emirate, and the people of Kwara State, wishing the royal father good health and many more impactful years on the throne.
“President Tinubu joins the Emir’s family and the people of Kwara to celebrate this remarkable milestone and prays for continued strength and wisdom for the revered monarch,” the statement concluded.
