
Thousands of commuters and motorists were left stranded on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway yesterday following a multiple-vehicle crash on the Kara Bridge end of the highway.
The incident, which occurred around 7 am, involved trucks and several cars, leading to severe gridlock along the road.
Although no casualties have been reported, there were some injuries. Emergency response teams, including officials from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the police, quickly arrived at the scene to assist with rescue operations and clear the wreckage.
In a post on X, LASTMA confirmed the incident and urged patience from road users as traffic extended back to the Otedola Bridge.
The situation caused significant delays, and commuters were advised to exercise caution while traveling through the area.
